Toddlers, Teeth, and Tea: A Day in the Life

Let me start by saying, I love my teeth. I'm very glad I have them. I'm glad that Big Sister has teeth too. But right now, teeth are causing major drama in our house. Evie has been working on getting a few teeth for a while now, but we seem to have hit the worst of it for this round of teething. (Dear Lord,  Please let this be the worst of it!)

She's pretty happy considering, but she has been extra clingy, whiny and chewy (perhaps not the right choice of words... she's not chewy, she's chewing...on everything)! I went to take the trash out, she whined, "No. Mama. No." Tim got ready to leave for work, she shrieked and cried and generally threw a fit. I asked Tim if it was "Take Your Toddler to Work Day." He said it wasn't. In fact, he claims that such a day doesn't exist. It should.

And so here I am with a fussy toddler, her teeth, and a 3-month-old, pretending that I have hope of getting anything accomplished today.  But wait! I did brew some iced tea! Yup, it brewed all over the kitchen counter!! This, folks, is what we call living the dream!

  1. I feel for ya! It's miserable around here when Cashel is teething, even if he's a sweet little guy most days. I had high hopes that he'd magically get the rest of his teeth before the new little one comes, but my hopes would be wishing a heck of a lot of pain on him in the next 6 weeks, unfortunately :( I hope they come through soon so you can gain back some semblance of sanity! Best wishes, my dear!
